Sabbath in Door County

This Sabbath was truly a blessed experience. It started with eating our traditional Sabbath rolls and mango juice. After eating, we relaxed by the fireplace and had worship. This morning, we were able to visit the Fish Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church and then spent some time outside. We ended it with BBQ tofu wraps with slaw. We’ve been trying to make this vacation extra-special and to center it around our boys. It’s been all about quality time together and special treats that they normally don’t get at home. They are loving it and so are we.

This evening, we had a little game night with the boys while watching the winter olympics. We checked out the games Hi Ho Cherry-O and Charades for Kids from the office. They were both super-fun and we had a great time together. Now all of the boys are sound asleep in their room. The place we’re staying at is so awesome. I think it comes second only to our honeymoon. We never want to leave!

At the dinner table – we light the candles for dinner. The boys enjoy blowing them out when we’re done.

  1. Hey you guys! Wow, your family is growing and looking great!! I am so happy that God is leading you all, but I am also glad y’all got to have a break and really focus on the kids! Blessings. Rumers are there is going to be another CAMPUS missionary reunion this spring (maybe in may?)…not sure of the details. I have been dying to take my husband and son up there and show them all around, not just Ann Arbor, but all the places i got to visit in MI! I love that state!! Maybe we can see you guys if we make it up there. Again, blessings.

  2. I am sitting here reading this and talking with my BIL Joe about your treats and tricks on vacay and we have both decided that we would like to have Judy coordinate our vacations complete with candelabras for our dining pleasure…So happy for you all that you can take this time. Also, wasn’t Ty just born?  Who replaced him with an 18 month-old?

  3. @kimcheemeow – Nella, that’s because you live in a gorgeous place!  It must be fun there all the time!  When you live in 10 feet of snow for a few months, if you don’t get a vacation in, you’ll go crazy!  Talk about who’s jealous!!@jensa07 – So are you going to be able to visit or what??!!  We need to have a chat…@hillarydc123 – Hi Hillary!  Good to hear from you!  We’ll see about the reunion.  We live in the U.P. which is 9 hours north of Ann Arbor!  I saw pics of your family on facebook.  Jude is so cute!  God bless your family too!@peanutluey – Kendra, Ty is about the size of an 18 month old now…he’s so BIG.  And I’d love to plan your vacations!  ðŸ˜‰  Israel always chooses the venues, but I like planning the activities – especially after being so isolated in the yoop!
